Neuralink Telepathy Receiver Makes X Post ‘Just By Thinking’, Elon Musk Is Elated; Check Here
Soon after Elon Musk shared a demonstration of a Neuralink patient playing chess online using the chip implanted into his brain, the Tesla CEO has now reposted an X (formerly called Twitter) post made ‘just by thinking’.
Musk’s brain technology startup had implanted the chip in Noland Arbaugh, 29, who was paralysed (below the shoulder) in a diving accident.
Taking to X, Arbaugh’s account jokingly posted, “Twitter banned me because they thought I was a bot, @X and @elonmusk reinstated me because I am.” Reposting the post, the Tesla CEO said that it is the “first ever post made just by thinking, using the @Neuralnk Telepathy device”. X CEO Linda Yaccarino also shared her reaction to the user’s post and said: “You certainly ARE! Welcome to the X family [with heart hands emoji]”.
This latest activity comes after the patient successfully controlled a laptop’s cursor with the help of the Neuralink chip. The patient received the implant from the brain chip startup in January. “Initial results show promising neuron spike detection,” @elonmusk posted on X while adding that he was recovering well.

Neuralink earlier live-streamed a video of the patient playing chess with his mind and controlling the cursor on the screen using the chip, according to Reuters. The device aims to allow users to control a keyboard and a mouse using thoughts, starting with people with quadriplegia or cervical spinal cord impairment.
Meanwhile, Arbaugh had said the “surgery was super easy” and he “was released from the hospital a day later. I have no cognitive impairments.” Further, referring to Civilization VI game(which he gave up playing), he said the chip allowed him to play the game for eight hours straight. Further, he said the tech was “not perfect” and a lot of work needs to be done to resolve the issues. “I don’t want people to think that this is the end of the journey, there’s still a lot of work to be done, but it has already changed my life,” he added.
