New-gene BMW 5 Series long-wheelbase India launch confirmed on July 24
After ruling the luxury segment for years with the 3 and 7 Series with long wheel base (LWB) versions, BMW has finally moved the tech-loaded 5 Series model into the same category. Now, the vehicle has been increased in overall size, with a revised length of 5,175 mm, width of 1,900 mm and height of 1,520 mm. As per the details shared by the brand, the extended avatar is all set to hit the Indian market in July 2024. The upcoming model will not replace the ongoing 5 Series. However, it will unlock new options for customers.
Expected price
The company has not shared the pricing details yet. However, it is Rs. It is expected to hit the market under the price bracket of 90 lakhs – 1.00 crores (ex-showroom). Again! This is just a speculation, concrete details about it will be announced at the launch event.
External highlights
Talking about the front fascia, the model looks quite fresh, showing some significant changes on the outside and inside. It now gets the brand’s signature twin headlights and illuminated kidney grille, complemented by an LED headlight setup, improved daytime driving lights with turn indicators. It is noted that the range of adaptive LED headlights including cornering light and matrix high beam has been enhanced with glare-free high beam.

When it comes to the rear section, the company has offered an L-shaped full LED taillight, the rear side has also been given the treatment. A sweet touch of chrome strip has also been included between the units, making it more attractive in the segment.

Jumping inside, the model comes with an improved curved display, which includes a 12.3-inch information display behind the steering wheel and a control display with a 14.9, making it a complete single unit. It supports all wireless car connect technologies including Android, Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable components include flat-bottom multi-functional steering wheel, dual wireless charging pads, premium class ambient lighting, glass finished round-shaped drive selector.
