Next-Generation Honda Amaze Set to Debut in India in 2024: Here’s the Scoop
Amid the ongoing stringent emission laws in India, leading carmaker Honda has limited products left in its portfolio. The list includes the latest City, the newly launched Elevate and the current generation model Amaze, which will soon receive a major update later this year. It has been reported that the company is gearing up to launch the next generation avatar of the Amaze. However, the exact launch time is not yet known. But, some reports say that it could be a big surprise in the market.
If rumors are to be believed, the entry-level sub-4 meter sedan will come with some major updates. It has also been reported that the model may ditch its current platform and is expected to be built on the City platform with a shorter wheelbase. However, the company is yet to share official details about it.
Major update on Honda Amaze
The car is likely to dominate the segment with a new style statement, featuring better road looks. Some reports have also suggested that Honda might put more effort into the rear design as it receives a lot of criticism from potential customers.
Expected updates
Sharing the Accord’s DNA, the updated avatar is likely to be equipped with a full LED headlight system, better looking DRLs, new front grille, revised bumper design and some minor updates from the side profile. To make the vehicle more affordable, the brand may miss out on some trending features like ADAS, sunroof and fully digital instrument cluster.
Engine options
As far as the engine is concerned, it will continue to be powered by a 1.2L 4-cylinder petrol unit, which will generate a maximum output of 88 bhp and a peak torque of 110 Nm. The unit will be mated to a 5-speed MT or CVT gearbox.
