The Indian Railways is all set to revolutionize travel between Delhi and Agra with the introduction of a new high-speed Vande Bharat Express train. This new service is poised to significantly reduce travel time for passengers commuting between the two cities, offering a seamless and efficient transportation option. The upcoming Vande Bharat Express will cover the 200 km distance between New Delhi and Agra in just 90 minutes, boasting a remarkable speed of 160 km/h. This swift connectivity will make it one of the fastest trains in India, surpassing the current travel duration of 2 to 4 hours on similar routes.
With 16 coaches onboard, the Vande Bharat Express will not only streamline travel between Delhi and Agra but is also planned to extend its route to Lucknow via Agra. This expansion of connectivity is a welcome development for passengers seeking a convenient travel options across Uttar Pradesh.
Currently, the New Delhi Intercity Express runs between Delhi and Agra. It starts from Agra at 5:50 am. The new Vande Bharat Metro may start from New Delhi early in the morning to provide similar connectivity to Agra-bound passengers.
The trial run for the Delhi-Agra Vande Bharat Express is scheduled for July. Additionally, proposals have been submitted to introduce more Vande Bharat trains in Agra, further enhancing regional connectivity and accessibility.
The Indian Railways is gearing up to launch the Vande Bharat Metro service, designed to connect cities situated 150 to 200 km apart. Following a successful trial run between Palwal and Vrindavan, where the train achieved speeds of 160 km/h, plans are underway to introduce this service in Uttar Pradesh, promising a new era of efficient and rapid travel.
