NTA has released exam guidelines and dress code for JEE Main 2024, to know what to do and what not to do on the exam day.

Joint Entrance Exam (JEE Main) 2024 Session 2 examinations are going to be conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) from April 4 to April 12. The agency has released the admit card for this, along with the guidelines to be followed by the candidates. These also include a list of necessary documents to be carried by the candidates to the exam hall. Let us know what to do and what not to do on the exam day…

Let us inform you that NTA will examine two shifts every day – Shift 1 will be conducted from 9 am to 12 noon, while Shift 2 will be conducted from 3 pm to 6 pm. As per the guidelines, candidates are required to carry their JEE Main hall ticket and government-issued ID card to the JEE exam center. Remember that students are not allowed to carry any electronic device or notes inside the examination hall.

JEE Main 2024 session 2: What not to bring to the exam center?

Stationary: Avoid bringing pens, paper, pencils, or geometry boxes; Materials for rough work are given in the examination room.

ID Cards: IDs issued by schools or colleges and images of mobile phones are not considered valid.

Food and drinks: Do not bring loose or packaged food and water; They are not allowed in the examination hall. However, students with diabetes may bring items such as sugar pills, fruits, and transparent water bottles.

Electronics Gadgets: Mobile phones, earphones, calculators, smart watches with cameras, and calculator facilities cannot be brought into the exam hall.

Handbag: Candidates are not allowed to carry any kind of handbag or purse.

Valuables: There is no provision for the safekeeping of valuables at the JEE Main 2024 examination center.

JEE Main 2024 session 2: Dress code

  • The dress code is part of the exam security measures of NTA. Here is the JEE Main dress code.
  • Avoid clothing with metal objects to make the searching process easier.
  • Prohibition of wearing caps, mufflers, or any headgear.
  • Choose light, comfortable clothing to ensure comfort during the exam.
  • Strictly avoid wearing jewelery or ornaments.
  • Prohibited items include glasses, rings, bracelets, and similar items.

JEE Main 2024: Guidelines for exam day

  • Candidates should reach the examination center at least 30 minutes before the reporting time given in the JEE Main 2024 admit card.
  • Candidates coming after the entrance time will not be allowed to take the examination.
  • Write your name and roll number on the rough sheet given during the examination.
  • Return both the rough sheet and admit card to the invigilator before leaving the examination hall.
  • Admit card, photograph, and valid photo ID proof are mandatory to appear in the JEE Main exam. Without these documents, candidates will not be allowed to take the examination.
  • Banned items such as mobile phones, study material, electronic devices, or any unauthorized items are not allowed at the JEE Main 2024 examination venue.
  • Students with diabetes can bring food items like sugar pills, fruits, and transparent water bottles to the center.
  • Also remember that packaged foods like chocolates, candies, sandwiches, etc. are not allowed.
