Pakistan to host New Zealand as T20 World Cup prep
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has officially announced the exciting news of a five-match T20I series against New Zealand, scheduled for April.
Discussions are underway with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) to finalise the dates and venues for this long-awaited cricket showdown, set to take place from April 13 to April 24.
In preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup, the series will be held in Lahore and Rawalpindi. Karachi will also host a series between the Pakistan and West Indies women’s teams during the same period. Cricket enthusiasts in Lahore and Rawalpindi can look forward to witnessing top-notch T20I action as both the teams compete for supremacy, while seeking to acquire essential match-practice.
New Zealand recently triumphed over Pakistan in a five-match T20 series last month, winning the trophy with an emphatic 4-1 scoreline. The upcoming series is poised to be a crucial battleground for both teams as they gear up for the T20 World Cup, adding an extra layer of spice and excitement for fans.
After the conclusion of the ongoing Pakistan Super League, the national team’s schedule is packed with T20I matches against Afghanistan, New Zealand, and England. The series marathon serves as a vital preparation for the T20 World Cup, scheduled for June in the USA and West Indies.
