Parthiv Patel’s Bold Claim: Brands Glenn Maxwell ‘Most Overrated’ Player in IPL
Former India wicketkeeper Parthiv Patel made a strong statement on his official X account, as he called Glenn Maxwell the most overrated player in the history of IPL after his performance in the RCB vs GT clash. Maxwell has not had the best IPL this season and was dropped from the team midway through the tournament as he took a break for mental health.
The Aussie all-rounder will return to the lineup in the first RCB vs GT clash where he took the wicket of Shubman Gill and was not required to come into bat as Virat Kohli and Will Jacks got the job done. On Saturday, Maxwell’s services were needed as RCB lost 3 quick wickets in the powerplay overs of the chase. However, the Aussie star would perish as he tried to ensure that RCB were trying to get a better net run-rate in the end.
Maxwell scored just 4 runs off 3 balls but RCB would eventually hold on to win the match by 4 wickets. Patel would then post a tweet on X with his bold statement. This will lead to mixed reactions from fans with some condemning Patel while others are with him. Patel will also conduct a poll asking fans to vote on whether Maxwell is better as a player for Australia or as an IPL star.

How well has Maxwell fared in IPL 2024?
This will probably go down as Maxwell’s worst IPL season unless he is able to turn things around in the final few matches. The Australian all-rounder has scored just 36 runs in 8 matches this season at an average of 5.14 and a strike rate of 97.29.
