Pune man lures 8-year-old with ‘vada pav’, kills him after sexually abusing him
A man allegedly killed an eighth-year-old boy after having unnatural sex with him in Maharashtra’s Pune district, police said on Monday.
The accused allegedly lured the minor boy with a ‘vada pav’ and then sexually abused him. The incident took place in Pimpri Chinchwad area of Pune.
Accused killed boy after sexually assaulting him
The boy had been missing since Saturday. He went missing from near his home in a chawl. Police identified the man who abducted the boy with the help of CCTV footage. Subsequently, the accused, 28-year-old Pawan Pandey, was arrested on Sunday, the Wakad police station official was quoted as saying by news agency PTI.
During interrogation, the accused told the police that he sexually assaulted the boy and then strangled him and dumped the body in Bavdhan area. Pandey was booked for murder, unnatural sex and other offences under provisions of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
Another minor sodomised in Navi Mumbai
In a separate incident, a eight-year-old boy was sodomised and assaulted by a 38-year-old man in Navi Mumbai. The victim was the son of a watchman who works at a building in Khandeshwar. The accused, identified as Sanaull Hakim Sheikh, a resident of Masjid Bunder in Mumbai, took the boy to the terrace of the building under the pretext of seeking his help to find a flat on Sunday. The accused then allegedly sodomised the minor.
