Randeep Hooda Makes Shocking Revelations About Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Calls Her ‘Unreal’
Randeep Hooda, who is gearing up for the release of ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’ this weekend, recently shared about his experience working with Aishwarya Rai in ‘Sarbjit’.
The actor admitted that they didn’t have much opportunity to bond on set. ‘Sarbjit’ is a biographical drama film directed by Omung Kumar, which portrays the real-life story of Sarabjit Singh, an Indian farmer who was wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in Pakistan for alleged terrorism. The film primarily focuses on the relentless efforts of Sarabjit’s sister, Dalbir Kaur, to prove his innocence and secure his release.
Now, Randeep Hooda mentioned that due to the limited scenes they had together in the movie, they didn’t spend many days working closely. For the unversed, Randeep portrays the titular character, Sarabjit Singh, while Aishwarya essays the role of Dalbir Kaur, his determined sister.
Talking about the Aishwarya, the actor said, “She was great, very courteous, she does her job well. She’s all there, she’s very sincere about it. Although we didn’t have many interactions on set because a lot of my scenes were away from her, but whenever we did, she was all that she’s made out to be,” Randeep told Humans of Bombay. However, he feels that she is unreal. “They tried their best to make her look real, but she’s so unreal,” he added.
Randeep Hooda revealed that during the filming of ‘Sarbjit,’ he developed a strong bond with Sarabjit’s sister, rather than with Aishwarya Rai. “While making the movie, more than Aishwarya, I formed a great bond with Sarabjit’s sister. She has passed away now, and her desire was that I come and give fire to her funeral pyre, which I did. I wish I had more time with her, she was a great lady, and she really looked after Sarabjit’s kids. They’re all well settled, I’m in touch with them. That movie had a real-life impact,” he said.
Meanwhile, Randeep Hooda will portray Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, also known as Veer Savarkar, a Hindu nationalist, Swatantrya Veer Savarkar. The film also stars Ankita Lokhande, who portrays the character of Yamunabai, the wife of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar.
