Rani Mukerji: Never celebrated my birthdays, I do it through Adira now
Rani Mukerji, in an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, revealed that she never celebrated her birthdays when she was young because of her final exams.
She is celebrating her 46th birthday today, March 21. Last seen in ‘Mrs Chatterjee vs Norway’ which won her rave reviews, the actor shared her plans for the big day.
The ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ actor also admitted that she now fulfils all her desires through her daughter Adira.
“I love celebrating my birthday. For some odd reasons, we always had exams during my birthday – and that too, final exams,” she shared with a laugh, while interacting with India Today.
She then went on to add how she managed to celebrate the day when she was young. Rani said, “I always had exams on my birthday. So, I was only meant to give two of those chocolates to every child in my class. And I used to feel miserable because I was never able to celebrate with my friends.”
As a mother now, the actor has found a way to make the most of birthdays. She quipped, “Now, I celebrate my daughter Adira’s birthday with a lot of love. All the expectations that I had for my birthday, I am trying to do it through my daughter’s birthday.”
For her own big day though, Rani Mukerji has a simple rule, which is to spend it with her loved ones. “It’s pretty chilled out as I like to be around my daughter, my husband, my mom, and my very close friends. When they are with me, we have a good laugh together. We eat good food, which is very important in our lives. It’s as simple as that,” she added.
The ‘Mardaani’ actor also opened up about her daughter Adira and how she is growing up to be a ‘pretty lady’. She said, “She is lovely, and she is eight years old now. She’s growing into this really pretty lady – a young pretty lady. She is truly special, as every mother would say for her child.”
Rani Mukerji is yet to announce her next project.
