Rashmika Mandanna Opens Up On North vs South Film Industry Debate; Says ‘It’s High Time.’
Rashmika Mandanna, one of the brightest shining stars in the Indian film industry, is celebrating a significant milestone as she wraps up her 22nd film.
The 27-year-old actor, who rose to fame with her captivating performances in movies like Dear Comrade alongside Vijay Deverakonda and Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1 alongside Allu Arjun, is currently in a phase where her career is soaring to new heights.
In a recent conversation with The Hindustan Times, Mandanna has opened up about the need to end the North vs South film industry debate. What sets Mandanna apart is her ability to straddle both Hindi and South Indian film industries seamlessly.
The actor also emphasised the need to view the industries as a whole and refer to them as a part of the Indian film industry. “I think it’s about time that we start calling out the industry as the Indian film industry because we are all in the entertainment industry, and we are all one country. And it’s high time that we start acknowledging that all the industries in our country are the same,” she remarked.
Mandanna also expressed gratitude for the journey that has led her to this point. “It has taken me 22 films to actually be here today. So it’s been quite hard work and quite a journey, but today I’ve given people comfort to write stories for me, trust me with big films and good stories. I think it’s the journey that I’ve had, and I feel absolutely blessed. I feel extremely confident and some sort of relief,” she shared.
Among her upcoming projects, ‘Pushpa 2’ stands out as her immediate next slated for an Independence Day release. Mandanna, who plays a pivotal role in the film, is thrilled about the progress of the shoot. “We are almost 50 plus days into the film, and there’s a lot more to do, but as I always keep promising my audience that it’s going to be bigger than ever before. There’s a lot of hard work put in and a lot of focus on the detailing taken care of. There’s a lot of focus on each character that’s being taken care of, and that’s amazing!” she exclaimed.
