Reem Shaikh on being threatened by a man on a show’s set: ‘Be grateful I didn’t make your life miserable’
Karan Wahi, Jennifer Winget, and Reem Shaikh’s show Raisinghani v/s Raisinghani premiered on SonyLIV last week. And while the show has grabbed some attention from viewers, the interesting tale generated a lot of buzz for its star cast too.
Recently, when the team sat down for an interview with indianexpress.com, Reem Shaikh shared a story on how she faced some discrimination from a man on a set once.
When Reem was asked how she managed to carve her way in this man’s world, she went on to share this incident and said, ‘I have had different fights. Obviously it is a man’s world, and also the fact that I am young and have happened to work with people who have been much older than me. On one of my sets, I was told by a man, ‘Just be grateful I didn’t make your life miserable while you were working on that set.’ I have been told this on my face.’
As Reem Shaikh narrated this incident, Jennifer Winget was shocked and angry stating how Reem should have slapped that man. However, the Tere Ishq Mein Ghayal actor said, ‘I just asked him that what made him think that I would have given him that power to do so because he was not the one paying me.
I have been through that several times, but I have also had a very strong man’s support with me and that is my dad. I have always come back stronger. Since I was a kid, he has made me so strong, that if any man tries to mess around with me, I have the guts to look him in the eye and give it back.’
