Renukaswamy Murder Case: Karnataka Police filed the chargesheet in the highly publicized kidnapping and murder case of Renukaswamy, revealing the identity of the Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa, who is currently in jail, as well as the horrific and terrible torture he endured before his demise. The chargesheet includes 231 witness testimony along with technical and computer evidence, according to the police. They also noted that the investigation was extensive. The 24th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court received the 3,991-page chargesheet, comprising seven volumes and 10 files.
Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda told reporters in this location that a comprehensive chargesheet had been produced following an investigation into the issue from every angle. “We have arrested 17 people in this case who are in judicial custody. There are three direct eyewitnesses – 27 witnesses have given their statements before the court and other witnesses have recorded their statements before the police,” he said.
According to section 173 (8) of the CrPC (Code of Criminal Procedure), which grants the investigating agency unrestricted authority for additional investigation, the evidence has been submitted to the court. Police sources claim that beyond the testimony of witnesses, they have sufficient proof to prove the accused’s presence with Renukaswamy on the day of the incident based on analysis of call detail records and the tower location of the accused’s mobile phones.

The chargesheet mentions that the victim’s bloodstains were discovered on the clothing of some of the accused, including Pavithra Gowda. This fact has been verified with the assistance of FSL reports, which are an important piece of evidence. It also mentions details about photographs of the victim’s body which was recovered from the mobile phone of one of the accused. These pictures were allegedly taken at the scene of crime (parking shed) after Renukaswamy’s death and sent to other prime accused in the case, police sources said.
Dress, shoes and money used by Darshan to cover up the case have also been recovered by the police, details of which have been mentioned in the chargesheet, they said.
Darshan was notified by the victim’s assistant, Pavan, that he was sending explicit messages and images to Pavithra Gowda using a fake Instagram account. They further said that after that, the actor instructed Raghavendra, the president of his supporters’ group in Chitradurga, to arrange for Renukaswamy to travel to Bangalore. On June 9, the victim, a Lakshmi Venkateshwara Layout resident, was discovered dead next to an apartment building in Sumanahalli, close to a stormwater drain. Under the guise of wanting to meet, he was summoned to the site.
