Rohit Sharma Speaks About Leadership And Management, Says ‘It’s Important To Lead From The Front’

New Delhi: Leadership is always about setting an example for your colleagues or teammates, opined India captain Rohit Sharma after the Men in Blue clinched their second T20 World Cup title, beating South Africa in the final last month. Following India’s victory, Rohit has been travelling consistently. After returning to India, the whole India team went to meet PM Narendra Modi in Delhi before flying to Mumbai for a open-bus road show.
Post that, Rohit left for London to be present at the Wimbledon men’s singles semifinal match between eventual winner Carlos Alcaraz and Daniil Medvedev. He was recently seen attending an event in Dallas, USA. In an interview with Aldar Experts Podcast, Rohit was asked what it takes to be a good leader.
To which, the Indian captain replied, “For a leader, I think it’s important to try and lead from the front, set an example for rest of your colleagues, your teammates. And for me, it’s always been important that I’ve always carried myself in a way where I try and set an example for my colleagues.”
The 37-year-old also stated that being a captain is always not about being on the field. “It is just not about what you do on the field, it is also about what you do off the field as well. I treat them like family, like friends, because as much as you’re part of this team, they share the equal responsibility and equal share in the team to be part of that team. So you got to make them feel homely, you have got to make them feel that you’re wanted here,” he added.
