Ronaldinho, Ozil, and Kaka among others to feature again in World Cup
Former football icons Ronaldinho, Mesut Ozil, Kaka, and Thierry Henry among others will be back in action again in the first-ever over 35s World Cup set to be played in June in a knockout format with all the games being played at Newcastle United’s St James Park.
The tournament will be played between eight former World Cup champions and it will be hosted by the Elite Player’s Group (EPG) which consists of top-level former professional footballers as well as sports businessmen. Players who will be captaining the sides are also the founders of the EPG.
The tournament will see seven matches to be played with quarterfinals to be held on June 4-5, semi-finals on June 8, and then the summit clash on June 11. It allows the fans to revisit the legendary show of the former superstars of the game.
Eight teams who will be participating in this World Cup are England, Argentina, Brazil, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, and Uruguay.
Star players gather once again for silverware
Many former legendary players will unite once again to clinch the all-new first-ever World Cup that is meant for players, who are over 35 years of age.
The captains’ list is already out with England to be captained by former Liverpool winger Steve McManaman, Esteban Cambiasso will captain the Argentina side. Alongside, five-time World Cup winners Brazil will play under Emerson.
