Salman Khan on Target, 4 Lawrence Bishnoi Gang Members Arrested for Plotting AK-47 Attack

Four notorious members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang were arrested for allegedly planning an attack on Bollywood actor Salman Khan’s car in Panvel, reported news agency ANI. According to information given by the Mumbai police, the gang members planned to order weapons from a Pakistani arms supplier to attack Khan.  The objective of the attack was to raid Salman’s car. The police have now registered an FIR in the matter against 17 people, including Lawrence Bishnoi, Anmol Bishnoi, Sampat Nehra, and Goldy Brar. Currently, the probe into the matter is underway.
As per the information, the gang planned to attack the actor and then escape to Sri Lanka. The four men who have been arrested by the Mumbai police are identified as Dhananjay alias Ajay Kashyap, Gaurav Bhatia alias Nahvi, Waspi Khan alias Wasim Chikna, and Rizwan Khan alias Javed Khan. The police stated that the accused had conducted surveillance on Salman Khan’s house and farmhouse prior to planning the attack.
Ajay Kashyap, one of the accused, initiated contact with an individual named Dogar in Pakistan via video call, through whom weapons such as AK-47s were ordered from the neighbouring country. Around 60 to 70 boys came to Mumbai for the attack and were living in different areas including Raigad, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Pune, and Gujarat. The men were keeping a close eye on Salman, informed the Mumbai police.
According to police details, the gang members wanted a minor to attack Salman and later flee the country. The accused planned to escape India by boat to Sri Lanka from Tamil Nadu’s Kanyakumari.
The news comes weeks after two individuals on motorcycles fired several shots outside Salman Khan’s residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra. CCTV footage captured one of the assailants firing towards Khan’s residence outside the housing society on April 14. Later, two men identified as Vicky Gupta and Sagar Pal were put behind bars for the matter. The duo was believed to have ties with Lawrence Bishnoi’s gang. A third accused, Anuj Thapan, was arrested in the case in April. However, he attempted suicide and died on May 1, 2024.
