Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6 And Galaxy Z Flip 6 Could Launch Sooner Than Expected
Recent rumours suggest that Samsung may be shaking up its usual release schedule for the Galaxy Z Fold 6 and Galaxy Z Flip 6, potentially bringing forward their launch to capitalize on the global stage of the 2024 Summer Olympics.
Traditionally, Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked events, where new flagship devices are unveiled, have been held in August. However, reports from SamMobile indicate that this year’s event could be moved up by a couple of weeks, potentially landing on July 10th.
The speculated reason behind this shift is the overlap with the Summer Olympics, scheduled to take place from July 26th to August 11th, of which Samsung is a major sponsor.
By launching their new devices just before the Olympics, Samsung could leverage the massive audience of the event to showcase its latest smartphones to billions of viewers worldwide. Additionally, Samsung has a history of providing special edition versions of its flagship phones to Olympic athletes, further enhancing its brand visibility during the games.
Launching before the Olympics also allows Samsung to avoid competing with the event for media attention. Similar tactics were employed during the unveiling of the Galaxy S24 earlier this year, which occurred in January instead of the usual February timeframe. Similarly, the Galaxy Z Fold 5 was announced in late July last year, departing from the typical August launch window.
