Sarkari Naukri: If you have graduated in Agricultural Science or Horticulture, then there is a chance to get a government job in Bihar. Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has announced the recruitment of 318 Block Horticulture Officers. The Commission has reopened the application window for this recruitment. Now applications for this recruitment can be made till 29th May. The recruitment of Block Horticulture Officer will be under the Directorate of Horticulture of the Agriculture Department. Application has to be made by visiting the website of the Bihar Public Service Commission.

Bihar Public Service Commission has re-opened the application window for recruitment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer on 23 May. This step was taken after the order of Patna High Court. After recruitment to the post of Block Horticulture Officer, the pay scale will be Rs 25000-81100 under Pay Matrix Pay Level-4. The basic salary in this is Rs 25000.

BPSC BHO 2024: Qualification and age limit for the post of Block Horticulture Officer

The age limit for the post of Block Horticulture Officer is 21 to 37 years. Reserved category candidates will be given relaxation in the maximum age limit as per the rules. The maximum age limit for the backward class is 40 years. Whereas for SC and ST category candidates the maximum age limit is 42 years. Apart from this, the applicants employed or working on contract will be given relaxation in the upper age limit by the number of years for which they have worked on contract or as employed.

Educational qualification

Candidates should have done B.Sc Horticulture or B.Sc Agriculture from a recognized university/college.

BPSC BHO 2024: Basis of Selection of Block Horticulture Officer

Recruitment to this post will be based on written examination and interview. There will be three subjects in the written examination. Out of which General Hindi and General Knowledge papers will be of 100 marks each. Whereas the paper on Horticulture/Agriculture Science will be of 400 marks. In this way, the written examination will be a of total 600 marks.

The examination of each paper will be of two hours. There will be two papers on Horticulture/Agriculture Science subject. Both papers will be of 200-200 marks.
