Scammers Using This New Trick On WhatsApp To Steal Your Money, Personal Data

A new WhatsApp scam is again raising concerns amongst users due to its nature to steal money and personal data. Although, WhatsApp scam is not a new concept.

Due to the popularity of this instant messaging app all over the world, there is no surprise why most fraudsters choose this to be a medium of scam. In the latest incident, an X user named Anvin shared in a post that he was added to a scam group on WhatsApp. Along with some screenshots of the scam groups and contact of the admins.

“As you know, many online scams are going on. You guys should be careful and there’s no easy way to make money. I was added to the following scam group on WhatsApp. I have shared some screenshots along with scammers’ numbers so that you guys do not become victims of such scams,” X user said in a post.

The user also claimed in the screenshot that the admins of the WhatsApp scam group have fake profile photos and they will delete the message in case you question them. People who are in urgent need of money may fall victim to such scams.

How To Protect Yourself From WhatsApp Scams

One of the important things to avoid falling into the trap of WhatsApp scams is understanding the signs of it. Here are a few suggested by cybersecurity company NordVPN:
