School timing will change in Kashmir from this date, order issued; Know details here
School education authorities of Kashmir have ordered a change in timings. This decision was taken due to an improvement in temperature. The Directorate of School Education, Kashmir has issued a notification in this regard. According to the notification issued, schools within the municipal corporation limits of Srinagar will function from 9 am to 3 pm.
The new timing for schools located in other districts and areas of Kashmir has been fixed from 10 am to 4 pm. According to media reports, schools outside Srinagar municipal limits and in various districts of Kashmir division will follow the schedule of 10 am to 4 pm.
Earlier time table
Earlier, classes for government and private schools in Srinagar were scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm, and in institutions falling outside the summer capital of Kashmir, the timings were scheduled from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm. The weather in the valley has improved with the day temperature reaching above 22 degrees in Srinagar and 24 degrees in the northern district of Kupwara. The weather forecast has predicted light to moderate rain between April 13 and 15.
However, schools in the Valley will remain closed for Eid holidays, which is expected to fall on April 10 or 11, depending on the sighting of the moon. Students and parents are advised to contact their respective schools for further details.
Announcement of Eid-ul-Fitr and Ram Navami holidays in Bihar
Meanwhile, the Bihar government has announced holidays for school teachers on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr and Ramnavmi. As per the order issued by the state government, schools will remain closed for Eid-ul-Fitr on April 10 and 11 and Ram Navami on April 17. This decision has been taken in response to the concerns expressed by teachers regarding the residential training program, which had previously prevented them from enjoying these holidays.
