Sequel of Rs 600 crore film announced, Rajinikanth to play 6 different characters, movie to release in…

Whenever we talk about South cinema, one name that instantly flashes in our minds is Thalaiva Rajinikanth. Over the years, the actor has entertained fans with his power-packed performances. Last year, in October, his film Jailer was released, which turned out to be a massive hit. Now, once again, Thalaiva is all set to make fans go gaga over him with the sequel, Jailer 2.
The production house of the movie, Sun Pictures, took to Instagram and shared posters of iconic characters like Rajinikanth’s Muthuvel Pandian, Mohanlal’s Mathew, Shiva Rajkumar, and Jackie Shroff, among others. Sharing the poster, Sun Pictures captioned it, “No more half-measures when the characters from Jailer are in charge! #Jailer X #BreakingBad.” While the official release date has not been announced yet, the film is expected to hit theatres in the first half of 2025.

Nelson, the director of the recent Kavin-starrer Bloody Beggar, confirmed in an interview with KS Ravikumar that his next project will be Jailer 2. According to reports, the concept and plot for the sequel have already been finalized, although the title is still under discussion. While Jailer 2 is a leading contender, the team is also considering Hukum as a potential title.
Jailer, released in 2023, became an instant hit. The movie garnered ₹650 crore worldwide. Apart from Rajinikanth, the movie also featured Mohanlal, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Jackie Shroff, Tamannaah Bhatia, Yogi Babu, and Vasanth Ravi, among others, in pivotal roles.
Meanwhile, Coolie is set to be another summer release featuring Rajinikanth. This action-thriller boasts a stellar ensemble cast, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahid, Shruti Haasan, and Sathyan in significant roles.
