Skoda’s Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza-rival spied in India
Skoda’s upcoming sub-4 metre compact SUV has been spied testing for the first time in India. To be the most affordable Skoda car in the country, this model will take on the likes of the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet and Mahindra XUV300.
The Skoda compact SUV will get roof rails, shark fin antenna, spoiler-mounted brake light and wraparound LED taillight units. The vehicle will be based on the India-specific MQB-A0-IN platform, which also underpins the bigger Skoda Kushaq mid-size SUV.

As per media reports, the Skoda compact SUV will have a wheelbase of 2,566mm. For reference, the Kushaq has an 85mm longer wheelbase at 2,651mm.
At the heart of the Skoda compact SUV will be a 3-cylinder, 1.0-litre, TSI petrol engine, developing 115PS of maximum power and 175Nm of peak torque. The transmission options will include a 6-speed MT and a 6-speed AT torque converter.
Considering the price of other models in this segment, we expect the Skoda compact SUV price to be in the range of Rs 8 lakh to Rs 15 lakh (ex-showroom). Skoda is yet to officially announce the name of this compact SUV.
