Snapchat reached 422 million daily active users in the first quarter (Q1) of this year, an increase of 39 million or 10 percent (year-over-year). In Q1, its parent company Snap’s revenue rose 21 percent (year-over-year) to $1.195 billion, driven by improvements in its advertising platform and increased demand for its direct-response (DR) advertising solutions. “We continue to make progress toward diversifying our revenue streams, with Snapchat+ growing to more than 9 million subscribers in Q1,” the company said in a statement.

In the quarter, overall time spent viewing content globally increased year-over-year, primarily due to strong growth in total time spent viewing Spotlight and Creator Stories. “Total time spent viewing Spotlight content grew more than 125 percent year-over-year,” the company reported.
