Southgate praises Jude Bellingham after late goal saves England in friendly ahead of Euro 2024
Gareth Southgate praised Jude Bellingham’s never-say-die attitude after saving England from defeat against Belgium with what was virtually the final kick of the international break.
The Real Madrid midfielder rescued a 2-2 draw at the end of a challenging international meet-up marred by injuries.
Brazil beat the Three Lions at Wembley over the weekend and two defeats on the bounce would have raised worries ahead of Euro 2024.
“Jude, of course, is the headline,” Southgate admitted at full-time.
“That competitive spirit, that desire not to lose, desire to win in the end, was decisive in getting the late goal.”
