Tata Motors Surpasses Hyundai In Domestic PV Sales In February 2024

Tata Motors looks to be on the course of becoming a supreme force in the Indian auto market.

The homegrown company was the second-most successful passenger vehicle (PV) manufacturer last month.

It marks a great achievement for Tata Motors, who has managed to beat rival Hyundai Motor India to clinch the second spot.

Maruti Suzuki continues to hold the top position on the list, having recorded sales of 1,60,271 units in February. It is 8.7 per cent higher than the volume sold in the year-ago month. Maruti Suzuki sent 1,47,467 units to its dealers in February 2023, as reported by India Today.

Tata Motors has seen a significant growth in the passenger vehicle segment. It has rolled out 51,267 units this year while the numbers were 42,862 last February. It means the Indian auto giant has registered over a 19 per cent increase in sales as compared to the same month of last year.

Hyundai Motor India, on the other hand, sold 50,201 units of passenger vehicles last month, logging a year-to-year growth of only 6.8 per cent. The Indian arm of the South Korean automaker recorded sales of 47,001 passenger cars last February.

Though Tata Motors demonstrated its superiority in the domestic market, Hyundai Motor India outperformed its rivals in terms of exports.
