Tata Motors Takes Giant Leap: Reports 19.6% YoY Growth In February 2024
India’s automotive industry has experienced significant growth in recent years. The car manufacturers in India, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors and Hyundai Motor India each surpass 50,000 units sold individually.
Sales are expected to increase in the coming months with the release of new vehicles in the domestic market.
The Indian car manufacturer, Tata Motors took home the second best-selling automaker for February 2024 with 51,270 units sold. When compared to February 2023, Tata Motors has experienced a 19.61% increase in sales with 42,865 units sold.
January 2024 however, stood at 53,635 units sold which is 4% higher than February 2024’s sells. Even with the decrease in sales for the month of February, Tata Motors manages to hold 13.7% of the market share as compared to the 12.8% market share in February 2023.
Tata Punch (18,438 units)
Tata Motors top selling model for February 2024 was the Tata Punch which had 18,438 units sold. When compared to February 2023, this is an incredible growth in sales for the Tata Punch with a 65% increase in YoY sales with 11,169 units sold in February 2023.
The Tata Punch also experienced a 3% increase in sales when compared to January 2023 which has 17,978 units sold and took home the spot at the top of the chart with the Top 10 Sub-4m SUVs in February 2024 surpassing the Maruti Brezza and the Hyundai Creta.
Tata Nexon/EV (14,395 units)
The Tata Motor’s second best-selling car is the Nexon/EV which sold 14,395 units in the month of February 2024. When compared to the 17,182 units sold in February 2023, Tata Motors recorded a 3.46% increase in sales but a 16% decrease when compared to January 2024’s sells.
Tata Tiago/EV (6,947 units)
Tata’s first hatchback offering on the list, the Tiago recorded 6,947 units sold with a 7.17% increase and a -6.84% decrease on MoM sales for January 2024 with 6,482 units sold and YoY sales for February 2023 with 7,457 units sold, respectively, taking home the third best-selling car spot on our list.
Tata Altroz (4,568 units)
The Alroz sold 4,568 units in the month of February 2024 which recorded a 15.50% increase in YoY sales when compared to February 2023 and a -7.44% decrease in MoM sales when compared to January 2024’s 4,935 units sold.
Tata Safari (2,648 units)
Tata Motor has experienced a 111.50% increase in YoY sales with 2,648 units sold in February 2024 when compared to the 1,252 units sold in February 2023. -8.47% off of sales when compared to the 2,893 units sold in January 2024.
Tata Harrier (2,562 units)
The Tata Harrier follows the Tata Safari with 2,562units sold in February 2024 which is a 24.73% YoY increase when compared to February 2023’s sales of 2,054 units and a -2.44% decrease in MoM sales when compared to the 2,626, units sold in January 2024.
Tata Tigor/EV (1,712 units)
Experiencing a -44.13% decrease in sales compared to the 3,064 units sold in February 2023, the Tata Tigor recorded 1,712 units sold in February 2024 which is an 11.24% increase in sales when compared to the 1,539 units sold in January 2024.
