Team India Victory Parade: Fans in Mumbai Complain of Breathing Issues, Fainting During Roadshow
Mumbai: It was a massive occasion as the victorious Team India arrived in Mumbai after meeting the honourable Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. The roadshow in Mumbai was supposed to start at 5:00 PM IST, but it was delayed due to rain. Once it started to rain in the evening, one would have imagined that fans will not turn out in huge numbers. But, the fans beat the rain and came out in huge numbers bringing the city to a standstill. Marine Drive was chalk-a-bloc and now fans are complaining of breathing issues, mismanagement of the event and a few also fainted.
Narrating the incident, an eyewitness named Ravi Solanki said the situation was very disorganised and lacked proper management.
“I was coming from the office and came to know that the Indian team would reach here between 5 pm-6 pm which did not happen. The crowd kept increasing. The police were not managing the situation. People suddenly started shouting, after which some people fell on each other. It was very unorganised. There was nobody to manage. The incident happened between 8:15 pm and 8:45 pm,” Solanki told news agency ANI.
