This actor from Allahabad is one of the biggest superstars of Indian cinema now and he is famous across generations. But, but he had his share of struggles. He had an easy way of choosing his life and career but he preferred the rocky road to success. Initially rejected by Prithviraj Kapoor, the founder of Prithvi theatre, this actor applied to be a newsreader for All India Radio in Delhi, but failed the audition. So he started doing advertisements to start his career. His sole focus was to become an actor, but that took time.
This actor once rejected Rs 10,000 for an advertisement because he wanted to have a big project so that people can call him an actor. He was ready to sleep on the benches of Marine Drive close to rats, as he did not have much money to live.
We are talking about none other than Amitabh Bachchan, who was influenced by her mother to take centre stage whenever he picked a role. Amitabh got the role in modelling because of his good height in the 1960s. Amitabh Bachchan once recalled, “There were opportunities then, too, when ad agencies approached me. I was offered Rs 10,000 for an ad, which was huge money since I was earning Rs 50 a month doing radio spots. But I felt doing an ad would take something away from me and I just resisted the temptation”.
Amitabh Bachchan was ready to become a cab driver
There was a time in Amitabh Bachchan’s career when his movies were not performing. He thought of driving a cab as he had a driving license. “I came to Bombay with a driving license, and that’s about it. It said if I don’t become an actor, I will drive a cab,” he said, and added, “The whole intention was to act.”

When Amitabh Bachchan was homeless
Amitabh recalled the time he didn’t have space to live so he lived on Marine Drive for a couple of days. He said, “I didn’t have a place to stay. You know there is a limited amount of time you can spend with friends because you’re barging into their house. So I spent a couple of days on Marine Drive benches with some of the largest rats I have seen in my life”.
Amitabh Bachchan now owns 4 bungalows

Amitabh Bachchan started his career by earning Rs 50 a month, then fixed to Rs 500 salary.
