Three things we learnt from Liverpool’s comeback win against Luton
Liverpool secured a much-needed and statement victory at Anfield on Wednesday, February 21 as they dispatched a brave Luton Town side 4-1. It was far from an ideal outing for the Reds who were without as many as 10 of their key players out with injuries and they did not make the best start going 1-0 down really early.
They trailed the game for the whole first half but as they have done so many times this season, Liverpool came back roaring in the second half and absolutely blew the Hatters out of the game.
Skipper Virgil van Dijk leading by example, opened the scoring from the spot and his fellow Dutchman Cody Gakpo doubled soon after. Luis Diaz and Harvery Elliott also found the back of the net as Jurgen Klopp secured three massive points with almost half of his squad depleted by injuries. Here, we will take a look at three talking points from the game.
Liverpool’s mentality look unmatched
Liverpool have overcome almost every possible obstacle coming their way this season and are hoing through a difficult period with so many players out injured. Their season could easily be derailed but Jurgen Klopp and his boys have shown that they have what it takes to grind out results regardless of who is available and who is not.
They are truly mentality monsters and have done it again by winning yet another game from losing position. Alexis Mac Allister is relishing an advanced role with Waturu Endo doing wonders in the number six position.
