Always plan your trip to Yumthang Valley with warm clothing as the place is located at a high altitude, resulting in fluctuating weather conditions.
There is no ATM facility in Yumthang Valley, so be sure to carry some cash with you.
Reaching Yumthang directly can be tiring, so it is advisable to first go to Lachung from Gangtok and stay there overnight. Next morning depart for Yumthang.
A special permit is required to visit Yumthang Valley, so be sure to obtain one before your trip.

The best time to visit Yumthang Valley
The best time to visit Yumthang Valley is from February to June. The valley remains covered with snow from September to December.
How to reach Yumthang Valley?
Yumthang Valley is located about 150 km from Gangtok. The road route is the best option to reach here. To reach Yumthang Valley, first reach Lachung from Gangtok and then proceed towards Yumthang from there. It takes about 50 minutes to reach Yumthang from Lachung.
