‘Unsafe for tourists’: Woman on Varanasi trip shares video of thief stealing her iPhone 13
New Delhi: A woman who had recently visited Varanasi for a pilgrimage trip with her parent shared her ‘traumatic’ experience on social media, saying a thief stole her iPhone 13 she bought four months ago and the Uttar Pradesh Police did not take any action even after the pickpocket was identified.
Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the woman said that her pilgrimage trip to Varanasi and the famous Kashi Vishwanath temple turned into a ‘traumatic criminal experience’ for her and her family. ‘Such people near the temple arena demean the sanctity of the place and make it unsafe for tourists who want to visit for spiritual purposes,’ she said.
