UP: SUV rams into bike carrying family, drags man for nearly 3 kms

In a shocking incident, an SUV rammed into a bike carrying a carrying a couple and their five-year-old son near Uttar Pradesh’s Rae Bareli.

The SUV then continued to drag the bike driver to nearly three kilometres. As per the police, the man succumbed to his injuries while being taken to a hospital, his wife and the child have suffered injuries.

Sharing details further, the police added that Virendra Kumar and his family was going from Rae Bareli to Dalmau when the incident took place. It said that while the family was in its way, a speeding Innova hit them head-on. Even as the woman and the child fall from the bike, the man got stuck between the wheel and right fender.

SUV driver did not stop after accident

The driver of the car SUV did not stop after the accident and continued to drive. The crowd however handed over to the police after he finally stopped. After the accident, the family was taken to the Community Health Centre, which then referred them to distric hospital. Virendra succumbed to injuries while being taken to the hospital while his wife and child are undergoing treatment. The police arrested the driver and further probe is on.

Earlier in November, at least four people lost their lives after their car collided with a heavy vehicle on the Delhi highway in the Moradabad district of Uttar Pradesh. The incident took place in Kundarki area of the city

After the accident, police informed that the driver of the car may have lost control while driving as he might have dozed off.”Even though both the front airbags opened after the accident, the impact was such that all the occupants lost their lives,” the police was quoted as saying. It added that while two persons lost their lives in the accident, two others succumbed to injuries while being treated at a hospital.
