UPSC Prelims Cut Off 2024: This year the UPSC Prelims 2024 paper was difficult, so the cut-off will go high..

UPSC CSE Prelims Cut Off 2024: The Civil Service Examination of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is one of the toughest examinations in the world. Every year lakhs of candidates appear in this examination with the desire to become IAS and IPS, but only a few lucky ones can crack this exam. The commission conducted the UPSC Civil Service Prelims 2024 on June 16. This year the difficulty level of the UPSC Prelims 2024 exam has been medium to difficult. In such a situation, the cut-off of UPSC Prelims can go high this year. The UPSC cut-off is made based on the difficulty level and vacancies of General Studies Paper 1 and Paper 2. Therefore, the cut-off is different every year. The cut-off of the UPSC Civil Service Exam is decided based on vacancies, level of difficulty, number of candidates, and performance of the candidates. If there are more vacancies then the cut-off is high.
If there are more recruitments then the cut-off becomes low and if the number of vacancies is less then the cut-off becomes high. On the other hand, if the number of candidates in the exam is more then the level of competition increases and this also increases the cut-off. Even if more candidates score high marks then the UPSC cut-off can go high.

UPSC CSE Main Exam
The minimum qualifying marks obtained in the General Studies Paper 1 of the UPSC prelims exam is called cut-off. The cut-off of the prelims is decided based on the recruitment released by UPSC. 12-13 times more candidates participate in the UPSC CSE Main Exam than the number of posts released by UPSC. On the other hand, the cut-off of those candidates who score less than one-third (1/3) of the total marks in CSAT i.e. General Studies Paper 2 is not counted. Candidates who qualify in Paper 2 are ranked based on their marks in General Studies Paper 1. Then these candidates will get a chance to participate in the UPSC main examination.

12 to 13 thousand will participate in the main
This year 1056 vacancies have been released for the UPSC Civil Service Examination. In such a situation, it is expected that this year 12.5 to 13.5 thousand candidates will participate in the main examination of UPSC. There is also a provision for reservation in UPSC recruitment, in which 15 percent of seats are reserved for SC, 7.5 percent for ST, 27 percent for OBC, and 10 percent of seats are reserved for economically weaker section candidates.
