Valentine’s Day 2024: Forget Flowers, Name A Cockroach After Your Ex, And Turn Them Into Animal Snack!
Valentine’s Day isn’t always all hearts and flowers-some people tend to find themselves tangled up in bitter memories of an ex.
But fret not! Scorned lovers can get their revenge in a wild and quirky way at zoos in the US. This Valentine’s Day, flip the script and turn that breakup baggage into a roaring good time.
According to reports, zoos across the United States of America are hosting naming campaigns and trying quirky ways to bid farewell to their ex by letting people name roaches, rodents, and veggies after their exes and turning them into tasty treats for resident animals there.
Whether you are there to support zoo ambassadors or simply have a dark and twisted sense of humor, believe it or not, this fun activity is actually for a noble cause. The donations help raise funds to support the future of wildlife around the world and support zoos as well.
‘Name a Roach’ Campaign At Bronx Zoo
Since 2011, people have had the option to name a Madagascar hissing cockroach for 15 dollars along with a certificate and who knows you may finally get over your ex-partners, knowing they have become an animal snack.
‘Name a Roach’ campaign for Valentine’s Day is the name and you are also allowed to name your friends and loved ones after this. You can also order online and receive a special notification to the recipient to inform them know that an insect has been named in their honor.
There is a similar campaign at Brookfield Zoo titled ‘Name a Cockroach After Your Ex’ event that also provides a naming certificate if you name your ex after a roach for just 15 dollars. This way you can immortalize them with a dark sense of humour on Valentine’s Day.
Catch and Release Event At Lehigh Valley Zoo
Meanwhile, Lehigh Valley Zoo in Pennsylvania will be hosting the ‘Catch and Release’ event, where people can name a fish after their ex, bad boss, or nosy neighbor, and witness them becoming a snack for the zoo’s penguins.
Like other campaigns, the donations will help support the zoo conservation efforts. Once the event is over, you will also receive a video link on Valentine’s Day which will capture how an African penguin is devouring your least favorite people.
