VinFast Unveils VF3 Electric SUV At CES 2024, Targets Global Market
At the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, VinFast, a Vietnamese electric carmaker, debuted the VF3, a supermini electric SUV, marking a significant step in the company’s expansion into the global electric vehicle market.
With its recent homologation in India, the VF3 is set for a launch by the end of 2025, promising an enticing range of up to 201km on a single charge. This move signifies VinFast’s commitment to establishing a strong presence in the electric vehicle segment worldwide.
Design and Specifications
The VF3 sports a tall, boxy, and sturdy appearance that is complemented by a reasonable ground clearance, making it suitable for a variety of terrains. It features an almost rectangular closed grille, LED headlamps, squared ORVMs, and a thick black bumper that extends to the wheel arches, adding to its robust aesthetic.
The rear of the vehicle is adorned with LED taillamps and a chrome-finished brand logo that spans both ends, enhancing its modern appeal.
Available in two trims, Eco and Plus, the VF3 comes with a single-motor configuration. While specific details regarding the battery size remain undisclosed, VinFast aims for a 201km range on a fully charged battery. The car measures 3,190mm in length, 1,679mm in width, and 1,620mm in height, offering a spacious boot space of 550 litres.
Interior Features
Inside, the VF3 boasts a range of advanced features, including a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car technology, and fully foldable second-row seats for enhanced convenience.
Future owners can also expect features such as a digital instrument cluster, automatic climate control, a unique two-spoke steering wheel, cruise control, and dual airbags, ensuring a comfortable and safe driving experience.
Investment in India
In a strategic move to strengthen its manufacturing capabilities, VinFast has commenced construction of a new factory in Tamil Nadu. Spread across 400 acres, this facility will boast an annual production capacity of up to 150,000 vehicles.
