Vir Das reveals future acting projects in cryptic Instagram post, hints at working on three films
Actor-comedian Vir Das, who recently became the first Indian to win the International Emmy Award for his Netflix stand-up special Vir Das: Landing, has shared details about his upcoming acting projects through a cryptic post on Instagram.
Sharing an anecdote about a conversation with his electrician in a poster on Instagram, Das wrote, “Just Mumbai things. Acting again :-)”
In the anecdote shared by Das, he mentions having a conversation with his electrician named Pappu, who was also the first friend Das made in Bandra. Mentioning that Pappu still remains his electrician, the comedian said Pappu often enquires about Vir’s upcoming acting projects.
“The OTT platforms happen and I sense this massive comedy opportunity, I start to concentrate more on stand-up comedy. I start putting out specials,” the Delhi Belly actor mentioned in his post, adding, “Acting takes more of a backseat.”
However, Pappu is not a big fan of his Netflix specials, Das reveals, and keeps asking him for his next acting update. Finally, in a chance encounter in a lift, Das tells Pappu that he is working on three films currently.
When Pappu inquires whether the three films can be watched with family, the Go Goa Gone actor advises his electrician to watch two of the upcoming films with family but not the third one. “Teesre vale mein family ko kisi bhi haalat mein nahi leke jaana,” he said.
Das has been part of a handful of Hindi films like Badmaash Company (2010), Delhi Belly (2011), and Go Goa Gone (2013) in supporting roles. His latest on-screen appearance was in the American comedy film The Bubble (2022).
