Virat Kohli 3 centuries away in Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 to become FIRST player ever…

New Delhi: India began their Border-Gavaskar Trophy series against Australia with a dominant 295-run win, as Virat Kohli marked his return to form with his 30th Test century. Now back in rhythm, Kohli is on the brink of breaking a major world record if he continues his run of centuries throughout the series.
Virat Kohli’s 30th Test century, his 7th in Australia, puts him on the brink of history. If he scores three more centuries in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he will become the first visiting batter to hit 10 centuries in Australia, surpassing England’s Jack Hobbs, who holds the record with 9.
Here are the visiting batters with the most number of centuries in Australia:
Jack Hobbs (England)- 9
Wally Hammond (England)- 7
Virat Kohli (India) – 7
Sachin Tendulkar (India)-6
Herbert Sutcliffe (England)- 6
Brian Lara holds the record for the most Test runs by a visiting batter at the Adelaide Oval, having scored a remarkable 610 runs at the iconic Australian venue.
Virat Kohli has scored 509 runs at the Adelaide Oval so far. If he manages to score 102 more runs in the second Test against Australia, he will surpass Brian Lara’s record of 610 runs at the venue, and also move past Sir Vivian Richards’ tally of 552 runs, setting a new benchmark.
