Virat Kohli Yet to Reach New York, Likely to Miss Team India’s Warm-up Game vs Bangladesh

New York: Virat Kohli, who was spotted in Mumbai on Tuesday, is yet to reach New York and link-up with the rest of the side. With the warm-up game scheduled to take place on June 1, it is now highly unlikely Kohli would feature in that. Day one, on Tuesday, was about acclimatising, and the players are expected to do skills training on Wednesday. Reports suggested that yesterday Team India had their first net session as well.
Kohli, who won the Orange Cap after scoring 741 runs at a strike rate of 154.70, will soon be seen featuring at the upcoming T20 World Cup. The former RCB captain scored his runs at an average of 61.75 with five centuries and one century. Kohli hit 38 sixes, which is the joint with 2016 for the most he has hit in a single season.
India, the 2007 T20 World Cup champions, will start their campaign on June 5 against Ireland, followed by the big game against arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9. They take on hosts USA on June 12 before the cricket caravan moves to Lauderhill in Florida for the game against Canada on June 15.
