Watch: Aiden Markram Left Stunned as Matheesha Pathirana Knocks Over His Stump with Lightning Yorker
Sri Lankan fast bowler Mathisha Pathiran once again proved why he is one of the dangerous bowling resources in the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) camp. The youngster with the sling action, fondly known as CSK’s Malinga, hit a deadly yorker to eliminate Aiden Markram on Sunday night. Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) were chasing a mammoth 213 when Pathirana struck in the 11th over, leaving the former Hyderabad skipper to the struggling tourists.
It was the 5th delivery of the over when Pathirana bowled a 147 kmph yorker on the stumps. Markram went for a big drive but was beaten by sheer speed as the ball hit the middle stump. Pathirana returned in the 16th over and took the prized wicket of Henrik Klaasen with a low full toss. The South African wicketkeeper-batsman was looking to get down the ground but could not time it right. Klaasen bowled it straight to Daryl Mitchell and returned with 20 off 21 balls.

Earlier, Ruturaj Gaikwad’s heroics took CSK to 212/3 at Chepauk. Called in to bat, Gaikwad scored an impressive 98 off 54 balls and was ably supported by Daryl Mitchell, who returned to form with a decisive 32-ball 52 before Shivam Dubey’s 20-ball unbeaten 39 took CSK past the 200 mark. were A 107-run partnership between Gaikwad and Mitchell was the cornerstone of CSK’s innings as it was their 35th 200-plus total, the most by any side in T20 cricket.
