WATCH: Babar Azam Flops Again As Pakistan Slips Into Big Trouble Vs Bangladesh On Day 4 Of 2nd Test

Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam’s wretched run with the bat continued on Monday (September 2) as he fell for just 11 on Day 4 of the second Test against Bangladesh in Rawalpindi. Babar was dismissed by Bangladesh pacer Nahid Rana, caught at first flip by Shadman Islam after he had faced 17 balls.
The former world No. 1 Test batter has now gone 616 days without scoring a fifty in Test cricket. It has been a disastrous series for Babar, who ends the two-match series against Bangladesh with just 64 runs to his name at an average of 16 with a top-score of just 31.

Babar’s dismissal couldn’t have come at a more inopportune time as the Pakistan side slipped to 65 for 5 at his departure. Pakistan only managed a small lead of 12 runs in the first innings even after they had reduced Bangladesh to 26 for 6 on the third day. However, brilling century by Litton Das, who scored 138 off 228 balls and Mehidy Hasan Miraz’s 78 ensured that the visitory kept hopes of a historic Test series win against Pakistan alive.
Babar, who is currently ranked at No. 9 position in the ICC Test ranking batted at the No. 5 position with bowler Khurram Shahzad batting at No. 3 as the nightwatchman. Pakistan began Day 3 at 9 for 2 with a lead of just 21 runs.
They lost first-innings half-centurions Saim Ayub (20) and skipper Shan Masood (28) in the 13th and 17th over. After Babar’s dismissal, Bangladesh also scalped Saud Shakeel for just 2 as the hosts crumbled to 81 for 6. Mohammad Rizwan, who scored a brilliant century in the first Test managed to stage a recovery in the company of all-rounder Salman Agha as the duo took the home side to 117 for 6 in 30 overs at lunch on the 4th day.
