WATCH: ‘Bhole Baba’ Breaks Silence On Hathras Stampede, Says He Is Distressed And ‘Guilty Won’t Be Spared’
Self-styled godman Suraj Pal Singh, also known as ‘Bhole Baba,’ addressed the Hathras stampede, promising that those responsible for the chaos will face consequences. In a video statement, Suraj Pal, aka Narayan Sakar Hari, broke his silence and expressed sorrow over the tragic incident that claimed 121 lives, predominantly of women and children. The stampede occurred during a ‘Satsang’ in Fulari village, Hathras district. Suraj Pal’s words come after the heartbreaking event that shook the community. “I am deeply saddened by the incident of July 2. May God give us the strength to bear this pain. Please keep faith in the government and the administration. I have faith that those who created the chaos will not be spared. Through my lawyer AP Singh, I have requested the members of the committee to stand with the bereaved families and the injured and help them throughout their lives,” the ‘Baba’ said.

Meanwhile, Dev Prakash Madhukar, the main accused in the July 2 Hathras stampede which claimed 121 lives, surrendered before the police in Delhi on Friday night, after which he was taken into custody by the Uttar Pradesh Police.
He will be produced before a local court on Saturday. The Uttar Pradesh Police had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for information leading to Madhukar’s arrest. On July 3, the state government formed a three-member judicial commission, headed by a retired high court judge, to probe the Hathras tragedy and to look into the possibility of a conspiracy behind the stampede.
According to the police FIR, approximately 250,000 people gathered at the event despite permission being granted for only 80,000 attendees. Meanwhile, the main accused, identified as Devprakash Madhukar, surrendered before the Special Investigation Team (SIT), Special Task Force (STF), and Uttar Pradesh police, as confirmed by his advocate AP Singh in a video statement released on Friday.
