WATCH: Harry Brook celebrates after scoring maiden double hundred, shares heartwarming hug with Joe Root
New Delhi: England’s star batter Harry Brook continued to bat well against Pakistan on Day 4 of the ongoing first Test in Multan on Thursday, October 10. The right-handed batsman has reached his maiden double century off 245 deliveries with one six and 18 boundaries.
Brook marked this great milestone when he reached the 126th over of England’s first innings, hitting a back-of-length ball from Naseem Shah toward deep backward point for one. After getting his double century, he removed his helmet and raised his bat in return to applause from his teammates and the crowd. He shared a heartfelt hug with fellow Yorkshireman Joe Root.

Notably, Harry Brook boasts an impressive record in Pakistan, having accumulated 468 runs in just five innings during the 2022/23 series. Earlier on Day 3, the 25-year-old registered his fourth century against Pakistan in consecutive Tests. With over 1,700 runs in 19 Tests, he has now secured six centuries in his young career.
Harry Brook and Joe Root both scored double centuries, leaving Pakistan in disarray during the first Test against England. The duo has already established a remarkable 400-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
At lunch, the visitors were dominating at 658/3, leading by 102 runs, with Brook and Root solidly at the crease. Ben Duckett was the last batter to be dismissed, falling lbw to Aamer Jamal with the score at 249/3. The Men in Green have now gone wicketless for the second consecutive session.
