WWE Raw: The Rock makes shocking appearance to assault Cody Rhodes
Just two weeks left before the most important encounter of his career, Cody Rhodes arrived at Monday Night Raw at the All-State Arena in Chicago, Illinois to address his opponent Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal title at WrestleMania 40.
He wanted to set things straight and that the time for talk was over. Little did the current challenger for the WWE Championship have imagined that those words would have to be swallowed back, courtesy of The Final Boss.
Realizing that the task at hand at WrestleMania 40 won’t be easy, Cody Rhodes asked for the support of the WWE Universe before berating The Rock and Roman Reigns for not getting the dream match between them to become a reality.
Cody led all the fans in the All-State arena in Chicago to point to the WrestleMania XL logo with him. It was during this moment that The Rock made his shocking appearance to confront him as the crowd in attendance erupted in shock.
The two stood right across each other in the ring on WWE Raw. The Rock whispered something to Cody, gave him a smirk, and quickly left the ring which left Cody confused alongside the fans.
Later the night on Raw, Cody fought both Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa all the way to the backstage area as they tried to interrupt the main event match between Jey Uso and Shinsuke Nakamura.
The Rock resurfaced and blindsided Cody from behind with an attack. A hellacious assault was given as the duo eventually went out of the All-State arena. Cody also got busted open in the process.
Cody’s face was smashed against his own bus several times and he was profusely bleeding from the head. The Rock then showed his “Mama Rhodes” weight belt and put Cody’s blood on the belt which was a supposed preview of what’s coming at WrestleMania XL.
The Rock then said that Dusty Rhodes talked about Hard Times, but he didn’t essentially face hard times. However, The Final Boss will make sure that his son faces Hard Times at WrestleMania 40 and never fulfills his dream.
